10. My Values

Safety: Physical, emotional and cultural safety are key. Intuitive Somatic Mentoring and Coaching is a safe and supportive space where your thoughts, feelings and emotions are all welcome. I’ll be checking in with you each step of the way, to ensure we’re going at the right pace for you and your nervous system.

Trust: Trust between people is built over time. When we have experienced trauma in relationships we earn the right not to trust others. My goal is for us to build a strong working alliance based on clarity, consistency and authenticity so that over time a sense of trustworthiness is established.

Choice: Intuitive Somatic Mentoring and Coaching is a co-created space where you are always in control. Any resources I suggest are always an invitation and never a should. You always have control over the session’s focus and pace. Your boundaries (and your no) are always respected, as is your right to end therapy at any time.

Collaboration: I believe in working together in partnership. You’re the expert on you, and you decide how we’ll work together. My approach is adapted to you and your needs. Intuitive Somatic Mentoring and Coaching is not about my agenda, issues or needs. It’s about working together so you can achieve your goals.

Empowerment: I believe that knowledge and understanding is an important part of somatic mentoring and coaching. I use psycho-education to help you learn more about your body and mind. I also teach emotional regulation skills and help you find the unique body and mind resources that work for you.

Anti-Opression: I’m committed to ongoing self- reflection and learning as part of an anti-oppressive clinical practice. I continue to work on recognising my implicit biases, power and privilege. I strive for ongoing cultural humility as I focus on listening and learning from all my clients’ lived experiences.
